Proof of delivery, made simple.
With over 400 lorries departing each day, it was time Ibstock updated their proof of delivery system for drivers. The old system of signed forms became inefficient very quickly. Customers wanted to know in real time if a delivery has been successful, and drivers needed a modernised way of proving deliveries had been made. This is where the ePod (Electronic Proof of Delivery) app was born.
To create a place where evidencing proof of delivery is simple and instant. Users simply scan the delivery note with the foreman’s acceptance signature on it, the app then reads the QR code on the form, assigns it to the job, feeds it back in to the ERP system for processing along with the photo of the form. Simple!
A simple pin code login, no fuss, users take the picture, confirm and submit it. The system then does the rest.
TECHNICAL & UX CONSIDERATIONS
Whilst not overly complex in it’s features, the product is a functional app, that was built to achieve a single objective. This means that drivers are using this app out of necessity not choice, therefore the quickest route to achieve their goals was at the heart of delivery. New auditable data is now being collected and reviewed at senior levels within the business. Insight that has never been achieved until now.
